Instructions

The steps below show you how to set up tiered cashback levels with Koin Cashback & Store Credit and Shopify Flow. Since every store is different, you may want to tweak the setup to match your goals.

Step 1: Create Customer segments for each corresponding cashback tier

From your Shopify admin dashboard, go to Customers, then select Segments.

Select Create segment.

Click the arrow in the Describe your segment box.

Click inside the segment description box, and at line '3 WHERE', type amount_spent and enter your desired condition.

Click Save, enter a segment name and save it.

Create the remaining Customer segments by following the same steps above.

Step 2: Create a workflow in Shopify Flow to automatically assign customer tag

Go to Shopify Flow and choose Create workflow.

In the Flow editor, choose Select a trigger and select Customer joined a segment.

Choose Bronze segment.

Add an action and select Add customer tags.

Enter the tag name in the field then Turn on workflow.

Repeat the steps above to create workflows for the remaining segments.

Step 3: Create a flow to automatically remove old tag when a newer tag is added

Create a new workflow. Select Customer tags added as the trigger.

Add Condition. Find 'tag' and choose customer/tags.

Select Tags item Equal to and enter the higher-tier tag name into the field.

Add an action and select Remove customer tags.

Enter the old tag name (the lower-tier tag) into the field.

Repeat the same process for the higher-tier tags. Turn on workflow once finished.

Step 4: Set up cashback programs for each segments using Koin

Go to Koin Cashback & Store Credit, choose Programs, then select Create program.

Choose Build your own.

Configure a program with the cashback amount you want for that customer segment. Click Save once finished.

Copy the Program ID.

Click Publish to make it live.

Create cashback programs for the remaining segments.

Step 5: Create a workflow to automatically issue store credit for each segment

Go back to Shopify Flow and create a new workflow. This time, select Order created as the trigger.

Add Condition and select Add a variable.

Find 'tag' then choose order/customer/tags

Select Tags item Equal to and enter the customer segment name.

Add Action and select Koin.

Select Issue credit to specific customer (through Koin program).

Paste the Program ID corresponding to the customer segment, then Turn on workflow.

Follow the same steps for the remaining segments.
