How PurelyB turned surprise gifts into a post-purchase experience customers actually notice

PurelyB case study snapshot
The challenge: Automated, fair, and surprising gift reveals

PurelyB makes natural wellness products inspired by traditional ingredients, built around real community needs. And that same care for customers is what pushed them to rethink a routine part of the shopping experience: the surprise free gift.
To reward spending milestones, PurelyB wanted to offer surprise gifts with purchase. The gifts had to be fun and exciting. Exciting enough that customers would actually notice and engage with them. They also had to land at the right moment during the buying journey. And they had to be automated enough to run themselves. Not picked and assigned by hand. That only burdens the operations team.
The problems stacked up quickly:
Gifts needed to be assigned randomly and fairly from a pre-configured mystery gift set, not hand-picked for every order
Customers who completed their purchase didn't always notice their gift, let alone reveal it
Without automation, gift stock was harder to track and carried a real risk of overselling
Because of that, a common free gift with purchase is not enough. They needed a system that could handle the full flow — assignment, reveal, and fallback- without adding operational load.
The solution: Mysbox makes gifting feel intentional and runs itself

PurelyB now uses Mysbox to run their surprise gift campaign. When a customer's cart reaches the spend threshold, they can see a mystery gift waiting for them. Then, once the purchase is complete, they can unbox it online with engaging unboxing animations that make the moment feel exciting, not just transactional.
A few things made Mysbox the right fit:
Fun and fair. Every gift is pulled at random from a pre-set group of products, each with its own odds, so the draw is always fair. And the unboxing animation adds the excitement PurelyB was going for.
The gift reveal happens at the right time. Showing a gift too early, while customers still have a minimum spend to hit, can push them to drop off. So Mysbox shows the gift at the cart as a teaser, but waits until the purchase is complete to let them unbox it. Customers feel rewarded, not pressured.
Auto-unbox as a safety net. Some customers forget to open their gift or get distracted. If that happens, Mysbox's Auto-unbox feature opens it automatically after a set time. Store owners don't have to remind anyone that they have a free gift, and the order moves to fulfillment without delay.
Inventory that manages itself. The mystery gift set and odds are set up in Mysbox ahead of time, so stock levels update automatically with every reveal. That lowers the risk of overselling and saves the logistics team from reconciling stock by hand after each campaign.
"Customers are more likely to feel rewarded after spending, rather than dropping off when they see a minimum spend requirement too early in the journey."
Results: Smoother operations, happier customers

The impact showed up in two places: the customer experience and the back end.
On the customer side, the mystery reveal turned a routine moment after checkout into something customers actually looked forward to.
On the operations side, auto-unbox made sure that the reveal happened reliably, every time, even when a customer didn't open their gift right away. No delays, no manual follow-up, and no gap between an order being placed and a gift being fulfilled. And because the gift odds and stock are set up from the start, the team no longer has to track gift inventory by hand.
What's next: Building a more connected gifting experience

PurelyB isn't just running campaigns on Mysbox. They're thinking through how to make the whole system even tighter — and sharing that feedback with the team.
Two things are top of mind:
A built-in minimum spend tool. Right now, the spend threshold requires integration with a separate app. Having that logic live inside Mysbox would make the setup cleaner and keep everything in one place.
Deeper integration with SiteGiant. PurelyB manages inventory through SiteGiant, and when there's any delay in the auto-unbox process, gift details don't always push through automatically. A more seamless sync would cut down manual work on the logistics side significantly.
